Drink Water

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

This may seems like real simple advice but hear me out. Drinking water can substantially improve your quality of life. Let's say every time you buy a drink you pay $1. If you buy seven drinks (btw I'm not talking about alcohol) in a week you spend $7. If instead you just carried a water bottle around and drank water you will saved $30 by the end of the month. So you know the girl/guy you really like. Take them to the movies. Or how about a kid at school who is maybe less fortunate than you? Buy him a new skateboard. Maybe you are more of an r/personalfinance kinda guy. If you save that money each month and invest it in a fund that tracks the market you will have enough money to retire by the time you are 65 (assuming you start at 18) you would have $95k.
But enough about the money. Part of life is feeling accomplished, and if you choose to you can find joy in being able to say something like "I don't drink soda." One of my friends and I stopped drinking soda about two years ago and now its like a little club for us. More importantly, water is a healthy alternative to pretty much anything else. Most sodas, teas, and coffees have caffeine which can potentially screw with your sleep schedule. Also I'm sure I wouldn't be the first to point out the exorbitant amount of sugar in most sodas and juices. Without having all that in your diet you can comfortably consume other sweets without feeling guilty. The reason I say cut out soda rather than cut out sugar is because its so easy for your brain to fool you into not thinking about soda sugar because it is just liquid, whereas if you ate 4 Oreos you would know you just consumed a lot of sugar.

Anyway I hope this helps people be happy :)
