LPT: When commissioning designers to do work for you, always keep a vector file of your company logo handy

I believe this post may have been made before, but being a motion designer, it is very frustrating when companies send me small JPEG files of their logo and I have to retrace all the points on Illustrator.

If you are looking for graphics designers to do work for you, it would be very helpful to have a press kit somewhere on your website so that anyone is able to see guidelines for your brand:

  • Twitch has a very good brand asset page that tells you the exact colours of its logo and the dimensions used, as well as a link to an Illustrator file of the logo in question.

  • Discord is another good example that also includes spacing considerations

So to re-iterate my point, it is a life-saver and a very useful item for designers if you have a vector (.svg, .eps and .ai iirc) file of your logo at hand or a link to brand assets/press kits for your company.
