Apparently there's a really common sentiment that your ballot will be discarded or voided if you don't fill in a choice for every category. This is not true. You do not have to vote on any candidate or amendment that you don't understand or don't feel 100% certain about. You can do more damage by voting without understanding than by not voting at all. So if you haven't read up on one of the proposed changes, or don't recognize the names in the raise for Property Appraiser or 10th Circuit Judge, just skip over it! It's okay!
If you'd like to learn more, do some internet research and check different local papers. Try to find out who's supporting what candidates and amendments and see where the money comes from. Here are some good resources to read up about who and what will be on your November ballot:

(Full disclosure: this was prompted by seeing lots of fellow Floridians voting "Yes" on an amendment that was deliberately misleading and regretting it afterward, saying "They read it and didn't understand, so voted Yes because it sounded good.")
